Rode aprox 75 miles varying speed between 40 and 50 Mph with frequent stops,runs great. Monday checked oil, topped off tank and met up with my riding partner Tim on his GS 800 . We got in 210 miles varied speeds between 50 and 55 Mph. down to 35 Mph on some of the gravel roads we always seem to find. The rest stops were even more frequent for water breaks, lunch and fuel stops. The bike runs great. NO leaks. Herzog gears much quieter. I am one happy camper. More miles tomorrow . Thanks a lot.

It runs VERY strongly. I do not recall feeling it accelerate this well - ever!!
Idle is slow and smooth. The pinging is gone. No ping whatsoever.

Sorry I missed your call last night. Just wanted to say all is well with my R1100RT. You and your partner did a phenomenal job on it. Prior to you working on it I was contemplating selling it. Now that you have worked your magic on it, the bike performs like new again. I will be in touch with you about some additional work I would like you to do in the future. I will probably update you more as I go, but I wanted to give you some initial feedback on my bike. First of all, the motor runs like it's new. It idles so much smoother, it accelerates smoother, and decelerates a lot smoother. When you accelerate harder than average, it used to ping really badly, but now that has gone. The front end feels great with the Ohlins shock you installed.
To summarize, I'm happy to have my bike back, and very happy with how it rides. Thanks for taking the time to explain everything so well for me and the great excellent service you provide.
Darren – ‘96 R1100RT Hello Peter, I appreciate the fine service job you did on my 1985 K100RS. I recently had the opportunity to spend the weekend in Banner Elk, NC. The last day of my stay I rode into TN, then up to Damascus, VA, back down through Shady Valley to Elizabethton, TN, around Watauga Lake and back to Boone, NC, then back to Burlington, about 300 miles that day, 450 for the weekend. The bike performed flawlessly. I look forward to getting it back to your shop for a more thorough service this fall. Jim LaFlamme - '96 R1100RT
I am the original owner of a 1975 R90/6. Due to raising two children my bike has been garaged for the last two decades and only ridden sporadically. Needless to say, the neglect was showing. It would still start but had become almost unsafe to ride. Peter took it for a test ride and announced, "it has anemic performance and the handling is terrible." 
I wanted to revive my 33 year old airhead to see if I was still interested in riding. If not, the plan was to get it running and sell it. Thanks to Peter I am not selling it. In fact I am looking forward to some long road trips this summer.
To date, he has rebuilt the front suspension with Progressive suspension which has dramatically improved the handling. He rebuilt my clogged carbs so that engines purrs at idle and performs at all speeds like a new engine. Peter also improved the performance by replacing the points with a Dyna III electronic ignition system, new rotor and diode board. Also installed were Hyperlites as well as rewired Bates luggage travel cases with rear lights for added visibility. The ATE front calipers were also rebuilt with new pads.
Peter took time to explain what he thinks should be done, the order he will approach the job, and the cost. He always stayed in touch during the service, stayed within his estimate and provided me with a professional invoice of all work and parts. The service included a five mile test ride together to make sure everything was working as expected. I think you will find the personal service from Bombar Beemers better than what you may have gotten in the past from other local BMW service centers. Rebuilt forks with new seals and complete clean.
Dyna Ignition III system installed, carbs completely cleaned and rebuilt perfectly tuned.
New push rod seals – no more leaking oil!!!
All cylinder heads rebuilt and valves adjusted.
New transmission shifting linkage install and adjusted.
Greased gearbox splines
Replaced air filter
Greased swing arm
Replaced spark plugs
Anti seize applied to exhaust fin nuts per periodic BMW service requirement and a complete check.
Excellent work. What more can I say.

The idle is much better, acceleration is phenomenal, and the addition of the Hyper-Lites was a great idea, people stay back now. My battery was constantly losing strength and then was unable to start the bike. It had only 3000 miles on the clock. You found the problem after your careful diagnostics. A bad starter motor - an internal short due to a dislodged inner plate. Who would have known?? The new Mitsubishi starter is fantastic. The bike runs great - NO MORE PROBLEMS!!!!!
